2 held with firearm in Ctg

The police arrested two persons along with a foreign made pistol and ammunitions from the city’s Bayezid area yesterday. The arrestees were Firoz Uddin Sabu, 30 and Nikhil Dey Opu, 25, hailed from Raozan and Mirsarai upazilas of Chittagong respec tively. Acting on a tip-off, a patrol team of Bayezid police station intercepted a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and recovered a foreign made pistol after frisking the CNG passengers. Sabu told the police that he was an expatriate and Opu was his bodyguard. “Whenever I visit Bangladesh, my bodyguard carries the pistol to maintain my security,” claimed Sabu.  A case was filed with Bayezid police station in this regard.
