The key concepts of the 19^th CPC National Congress cover the historical mission of the Communist Party of China as it enters a new era.

“The four greats”: To realize the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. This goal has been the greatest dream of the Chinese people since modern times began. Realizing our great dream demands a great struggle, great projects and a great cause. “The four greats” are closely interrelated. Among them, the great project of Party building will play a decisive role.

“A period of historical convergence”: The report issued at the 19^th CPC National Congress emphasizes that the five-year period between the 19^th and the 20^th CPC congresses is the period in which the timeframes of the two centenary goals converge. During this time, we must not only finish creating a moderately prosperous society in all aspects and achieve the first centenary goal, we must also build on this achievement by embarking on a new journey toward the second centenary goal, which is to establish a fully modern socialist country by 2049.

In the first stage, between 2020 to 2035, we will build on a foundation created by the moderately prosperous society in all aspects to see that socialist modernization is realized. During the second stage, from 2035 to the middle of the 21^st century, we will develop China into a great modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious and beautiful.
