State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid has sought Singapore‘s cooperation in developing waste to energy and waste management plant in power sector, reports UNB.
“Bangladesh wants to utilise Singaporean experiences in waste to energy and waste management,” he told Derek Loh, the Singapore‘s non-resident High Commissioner in Bangladesh, when he met the state minister at his office in Power and Energy Ministry yesterday.
Nasrul Hamid also sought help from Singapore to train up manpower in the country’s power sector saying that Bangladesh needs efficient human resources to face the future challenges in power sector.
Presently, a number of Singaporean companies have invested in power sector.
During the meeting Nasrul Hamid discussed different issues including ongoing projects in the country’s power and energy sector, regional cooperation, investment, Bangladesh’s entry into Singapore’s bond market and training of Bangladeshi manpower in power sector.
