Couple killed in road mishap

RAJSHAHI: A couple were killed and their two daughters were critically injured as a truck hit a three wheeler on Rajshahi- Chapainawabganj Highway in Hatnabad area of Godagari Upazila on Wednesday, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Karim, son of Mojammel Haque of Narayanpur area of the Upazila and his wife Sharmeen Akter.

Officer-in-Charge of Godagari Police Station Hifzur Alam Munsi said a Chapainawabganj-bound truck knocked down a three wheeler around 2pm leaving Mojammel dead on spot and three others injured.

Later, local took them to Chapainawabganj Sadar Modern Hospital where on-duty doctor declared Sharmeen dead, he said. Among their two daughters, one was referred to Rajshahi Medical College as her condition deteriorated, the OC added.
