Comilla look for revenge against Ctg

Sports Reporter

Chittagong Vikings will lock horns with Comilla Victorians in the second match of the third day of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) at 6:00pm today.

Before this match, both Chittagong and Comilla were faced off each other in the BPL first leg in Sylhet, where in the former lost the match by eight wickets at the teagarden and hillock-grit Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

Therefore, Chittagong Vikings played their first match in Dhaka leg against Khulna Titans and lost the match by 18 runs. So, the next match is important for them to win to bounce back in the competition fray.

For this they will get down firmly against Comilla Victorians for winning the match. Last match they lost against Titans, whereby their bowlers though succeeded in the initial stage missed to restore the momentum in the fag’s end and heavily cost for it by losing the match.

So, they hired English cricketer Chris Jordan to strengthen their bowling battery before their important match. He took part in the team’s pre-match day practice session at the National Cricket Academy yesterday as soon as his arrival in Bangladesh.

Chittagong recruit Sikander Raza spoke to media, where he defied to a media query and said that there is nothing to lose the nerve.

Even he said that they though lost two matches out of the three have every possibility to reach their ultimate target of the play-off stage.

“I don’t think struggling is right word. I think we have not really managed to get the result to our way,” said Sikander Raza.

Meanwhile, BCB has given green signal to Tamim Iqbal to resume his game after injury. He is expected to play today.

“We are yet  finding the right combination. It’s always take time. I am pretty sure will find right combination within a or two games to go forward and that will give a great chance to qualify for play-off, which is our target at the moment,” he added.
