DU teachers, students seek PMs intervention
Teachers and students of Dhaka University yesterday formed a human chain on the university campus and sought the prime ministers intervention to find out North South University teacher Mubashar Hasan Ceaser who went missing five days ago.
Teachers, present and former students of mass communication and journalism department of Dhaka University organised the human chain at Aparajeyo Bangla around 10:00am.
Presided by Prof Gitiara Nasreen, chairman of mass communication and journalism department Prof Mofizur Rahman, Prof Robayet Ferdous, Associate Professor ASM Asaduzzaman, Assistant Professor Shabnab Azim, Mubashars sister Tamanna Tasnim, among others, participated the programme.
Seeking Prime Minister Shiekh Hasinas instructions upon the authorities concerned for tracing Mubashar as soon as possible, Prof Mofizur Rahman said that it is the governments duty to take initiatives to trace him.
They also urged media not to spread out misinformation about Ceaser and his activities.
Mubashars sister Tamanna at the programme said her family wants her brother back at any cost. She sought the prime ministers intervention to find out her brother.
If Mubashar is guilty of any crime, the authorities should punish him but if he is not, then he should be returned to his family safely, said another participant at the rally.
The teachers and students of the department are extremely concerned and worried regarding Mubashars whereabouts, Prof Gitiara Nasreen added.
Dr Mubashar Hasan Ceaser, an assistant professor of School of Humanities and Social Sciences of privately-run North South University and a former student of the DUs mass communication and journalism department, went missing on Tuesday night.
On Wednesday, his family members filed a general diary over his going missing with Khilgaon Police Station.
Police said Mubashar last talked to someone on his mobile phone at 6:41pm on Tuesday when he was near Lions Eye Hospital at Agargaon.
