Language movement hero and freedom fighter Joynal Abedin Khan died at a hospital in the capital yesterday at the age of 85, reports UNB. Joynal Abedin, who had been suffering from various old age complications, breathed his last at the hospital in the morning. His namaz-e-janaza was held at Savar upazila complex premises at 4:30 pm. Later, he was laid to rest at Talbag Muslim graveyard in the upazila headquarters with state honour. Born in Pabna in 1932, Joynal Abedin played a significant role in Language Movement of 1952 when he was a student of Pabna Edward College.
