5-member panel of chairmen formed as JS session begins

Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury yesterday nominated a five-member panel of chairmen for the 18th session of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad (parliament) at the beginning of the day’s business in the House, reports UNB. The panel members are: Major (retd) Rafiqul Islam, Bir Uttam, AB Tajul Islam, Abdul Mannan, Ziaul Haque Mrida and Joya Sengupta. Announcing the names of panel members, the speaker told the House that they would conduct the proceedings of Parliament in chronological order in absence of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker. Earlier, the Parliament session resumed, with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair, at 4:05 pm.
