CHANDPUR: A total of 370 kilometers roads, damaged by heavy rain, are being repaired at a cost of TK 215 crore in the district, reports BSS.
Roads and Highways Department, Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) and Chandpur municipality are jointly implementing the renovation works.
The repairing works are expected to finish by the end of this fiscal year as highly sophisticated technologies are being used.
Subrata Datta, district executive engineer of Roads and Highways Department, today said 85 kilometers of roads are being repaired under the department at a cost of Tk 145 crore.
Besides, the 11 kilometers of road from Vatialpur intersection to Harina Ferry Ghat is being renovated at a cost of Tk 16 crore, he said, adding the repairing work started on October 24.
Moreover, the renovation work of 12 kilometers long Isli-Kamta Bazar road is ongoing. On the other hand, 60 kilometers of road will be developed at a cost of Tk 100 crore in the district.
Executive engineer of the LGED GM Mojibur Rahman said 270 kilometers roads across the district are being repaired by LGED at an expenditure of Tk 56 crore.
