The secretary committee on administrative improvement affairs yesterday recommended the creation of one more rank of assistant vice marshal in the organogram of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) for creating a new wing (planning) for strengthening the BAF activities.
The approval was given at the yesterday’s committee meeting held at the secretariat with Cabinet Secretary in the chair. The committee also recommended to upgrade the two ranks of chiefs of the Flying Instructor School and Recruit Training School of BAF to group captain from wing commander.
A senior BAF officer disclosed, on the condition of anonymity, that there are only three wings—operations and training, maintenance, and administration—that function under the Assistant Chief of Air Staff working under the Chief of Air Staff. There are a total of 25 directorates operating under the three wings.
