South Korean Ambassador in Dhaka Ahn Seong-doo has laid emphasis on joint efforts contributing more to the growing relationship between Bangladesh and Korea, reports UNB.
He was addressing the "KOICA Alumni Night 2017" programme held in a city hotel on Wednesday to share the knowledge and experience acquired in Korea.
Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and KOICA Bangladesh Alumni Association (KBAA) hosted the event. Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor who attended the function as the chief guest expressed his sincere appreciation for KOICA's contribution in various sectors of Bangladesh particularly for advancing its rich culture and heritage. Additional Secretary (Asia Wing Chief), Economic Relations Division Zahidul Haque also appreciated the invitational fellowship programmes conducted by KOICA that have rigorously pursued over the years emphasising that Bangladesh, like Korea, can also reach the status of a developed country in the near future.
The Korean Ambassador underlined that the alumni members strengthen and continue to develop a robust bridge between Korea and Bangladesh.
Country Director of KOICA Bangladesh Office Joe Hyun-Gue warmly welcomed all the attendees and highlighted how KBAA has achieved the remarkable operational success since its establishment. He mentioned that the total member of KOICA Alumni consisting of Bangladeshi government officials and experts reached more than 2,000, indicating the association's growth. The event featured colorful Bangladeshi patriotic dance performance by Sharkari Shishu Paribar Tejgaon and presentation on Korean experience sharing of KOICA's fellowship programme on emergency and rescue response.
