‘Robbers’ kill 3 in Faridpur

Three people were killed and two others injured by robbers in separate incidents in Char Bhadrason and Sadarpur upazilas of Faridpur district early yesterday. The deceased were identified as Md Sazzad Mridha, 30, and his cousin Sentu Mridha, 28, of Char Bhadrason and Malek Khan, 35, of Sadarpur upazila. Ram Prosad Bhakta, officer in-charge of Char Bhadrason police Station, said a gang of robbers stormed into the house of Anser Fakir of Mridha Dangi area around 2:00 am and held the family members hostage at gunpoint.

They looted 45 tolas of gold ornaments which were bought on the occasion of his son’s marriage ceremony, scheduled to be held on Thursday, from the house, said house owner Shamsul Fakir. Hearing a call over microphone about the robbery, local people rushed to the spot and chased the robbers
