Two women get life for murder

A court in Thakurgaon sentenced two women to life term imprisonment for killing a child at Chadgaon village in Pirganj upazila of Thakurgaon district yesterday. Judge of Additional District and Sessions Court in Thakurgaon Md Hayder Ali delivered the verdict in presence of the two accused. The court also fined the convicts Tk 10,000 each, in default, to suffer three months more imprisonment.

The convicts are Majeda Khatun, 45, wife of Tarabuddin, of Chadgaon village in Pirganj upazila and Tahmina Begum, 42, wife of Bhubon Ali, of the same village of the district.

According to the case statement, there was a conflict between Mohosin Ali and Majeda Begum of Chadgaon village under Pirganj in the Thakurgaon district. To make Mohosin Ali an accused of a murder case Majeda Begum strangulated her neighbour’s child Nadira Begum, 05, daughter of Abdul Kuddus with the help of Tahmina on April 17, 2014.

Nadira’s father Abdul Kuddus filed a murder case against Mohosin Ali in this regard on April 15, 2014. After investigation Sus Inspector Abdul Wahed arrested Majeda Begum after few days.
