Speakers stress sustainable city garbage management

Speakers at a discussion in the city on yesterday stressed the need for taking initiative for sustainable garbage management and quick formation of legal framework and policy in this regard, reports UNB.

Poribesh Bachao Andolon (Poba), an environmental advocacy group, and Grambanglar Unnayan Committee arranged the discussion title, " Legal framework in city garbage management and life of garbage workers" at the Jatiya Press Club.

The suggested the authorities concerned to turn the garbages into resources through an affective garbage management policy.

on Environment and Forests Dr Hasan Mahmud was present there as the chief guest.

“It is important to take proper and immediate steps for decentralisation of city corporations," said Dr Hasan Mahmud.
