Ahsanullah Master’s 67th birth anniv today

The 67th birth anniversary of veteran freedom fighter, Sramik League leader and former Awami League (AL) lawmaker Ahsanullah Master will be observed today, reports BSS. On this day in 1950, Ahsanullah Master was born at Haidarabad village under Pubail union of Gazipur district.

To mark the day, Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Smrity Parishad, Awami League, Juba League, Swech-chhasebak League, Chhatra League and other organisations have chalked out various programmes including placing of wreaths at the grave of the deceased leader, milad and doa mahfils and discussions.

Ahsanullah Master was elected Member of Parliament twice from Gazipur-2 constituency in 1996 and 2001. He was also a national committee member of Awami League and associated with different national and international organizations. He was gunned down in broad daylight by miscreants at Naogaon MA Mazid High School ground on May 7 in 2004.  His son Zahid Ahsan Russel, chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Youth and Sports, have urged all to attend the programmes.
