A Chandpur court yesterday sent three local BNP leaders to jail after rejecting their bail prayers in a case filed for arson attack on a truck that left four people killed in sadar upazila on March 18 during the hartal called by BNP-led alliance. They are Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik, district unit president of BNP and also a member of BNP central committee, Akter Hossain Majhi, general secretary of town unit BNP and Afzal Hossain Bepari, general secretary of district unit Juba Dal. Senior Judicial Magistrate Mostain Billah rejected the bail prayers of the accused and sent them to jail.
