DU tree plantation programme begins today
As part of increasing beautification and greenery of Dhaka University (DU), a tree plantation programme will be inaugurated on the campus today. DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) AAMS Arefin Siddique will inaugurate the programme as the chief guest. The programme will be inaugurated on the premises of Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban at 11 am, said a university press release yesterday. Pro-VC (education) Nasrin Ahmad, Dhaka University Tree Plantation and Beautification Committee Chairman and Pro-VC (admin) Shahid Akhter Hussain and Treasurer M Kamaluddin, will be present as special guests on the occasion.
4-day nature photo exhibition begins
SYLHET: A four-day art exhibition on nature began on Shahjalal university of Science and Technology (SUST) Campus on Monday. Green Explore Society (GES), a nature and environmental-based organisation of the university, is organising the exhibition. SUST Vice-Chancellor Aminul Haque Bhuyan inaugurated the exhibition on Monday at Arjunatola on the campus. Jahir Bin Alam, dean of school of applied science, Javed Kaiser, lecturer of Anthropology department, Nusrat Islam and Sourav Das, lecturer of Forest and Environment Science department, GES president Arcisamyana Datta were present, among others. SUST VC said the exhibition will help to create awareness among the people about the nature.
Training on entrepreneurship held
The inaugural ceremony of a 5-day training of trainers (TOT) programme on ‘entrepreneurship development and successful business plan’ organised by Bangladesh Agro-Processors' Association (BAPA) was held on Sunday, says a press release. The programme is being held to train up 20 teachers from Technical & Vocational Education and Training (TVET) & private institutes who will conduct 360 hours certificate on entrepreneurship development and successful business plan for their students.
The programme is cooperated by Department of Nutrition & food Engineering of Daffodil International University (DIU) and Financed by the SME Competitiveness Grant Scheme of European Union with Consultancy support of Bangladesh Skill Development Institute (BSDI). The inauguration Ceremony of the training programme was held at VIP Lounge of Daffodil International University on Sunday.
Sushen Chandra Das, additional secretary & project director of INSPIRED (Integrated Support to Poverty and Inequality Reduction through Enterprise Development), Ministry of Industries, was the chief guest while Md Sabur Khan, chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU, was the special guest.
Md Moslem Ali, advisor, BAPA, Md Zulfikar Ali Haidary, deputy secretary and deputy project director of INSPIRED, Ministry of Industries, Bangladesh, Md Shahabuddin, addressed the programme, among others.
