‘Ek Nirjharer Gaan’ held at Nat’l Museum

Popular singers Moon, Sovvota, Leemon and Fahmida Nabi performed at a musical evening titled ‘Ek Nirjharer Gaan’, organised by Indira Gandhi Culture Centre, at the Kobi Sufia Kamal Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum in the capital on Friday.

Each of the artiste performed their notable numbers and about 15 songs were presented at the event, ‘Achomka Jigyasa’, ‘ Ami’, ‘Swapner Ghore’, ‘Hoy Kingba Na Hoy’, ‘Hai Hai Chand Mama’, ‘Baranda Ure Gelo’, ‘Muche Jacche Daag’, ‘Theke Jai Dhulobali’, ‘Nishaser Namta Pore’, ‘Jehetu Sorasori’, ‘Eksho Bosta’, ‘Kothakar Dhulo Ese’, ‘Sobtuku Niye Jeyona’ and ‘Lukhochurir Golpo’.

‘Ek Nirjharer Gaan’ is a genre of contemporary Bangla songs initiated by Enamul Karim Nirjhar with his lyrics and tunes. These songs tell us about the truths of our time, the poetry of life, shared moments, closeness, and uncountable emotions of life. EK Nirjhar’s first project ‘Ek Nirjhar er Gaan: 001’ was launched with a collection of 101 songs which brought together 43 singers and 9 music designers of Bangladesh. From among them, three singers namely Autumnal Moon, Rezaul Karim Leemon and Karishma Sanu Sovvota performed contemporary Bangla songs and Fahmida Nabi also joined as guest artist to enhance the essence of the evening. l
