Wine, beer worth Tk 36 lakh seized

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) in a drive recovered 455 bottles of foreign made wine and 736 cans of beerworth Taka 36 lakh and 65,000 from Sonadanga Residential Area in the city midnight on Monday. They also arrested an alleged female drug peddler and seized two motor cycles during the drive. The arrested person was identified as Munni Akter, 27, wife of alleged drug peddler Shahjahan Hawlader of Sonadanga Residential Area in the city. Sensing the presence of the Rab, Shajahan managed to flee. Deputy Commandant of RAB-6 Niyaz Md Faisal disclosed the information at a press briefing held at its headquarters in the city yesterday.
