The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) is set to pursue a case against five employees of Bangladesh Railway for allegedly embezzling about Tk 50 lakh. The Commission at its regular meeting on Tuesday approved a proposal for filing cases against them, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB. The case will be filed against former chief booking assistant of Joydebpur Rail Station Abdus Slam, former booking assistants Abul Kasem and Anwar Hossain, former computer programmer of Joydebpur Rail Station Mamunur Rahman Chowdhury and former field engineer Kamruzzaman Shanta. According to the ACC probe, the accused colluded to swindle some Tk 50 lakh from Bangladesh Railway through forgery. The ACC launched its probe into the graft allegation in 2013.
