Trained youths get loan facilities

GAIBANDHA: Three trained youths, including a woman, got loan facilities of TK 1.90 lakh with nominal interest from Department of Youth Development (DYD) recently to run their project smoothly, reports BSS.

Apart from it, three voluntary organizations of the district also received financial grant of TK 60,000 from the DYD, the DYD source said.

The loan and the grant were distributed to the beneficiary youths and the organizations at a function held at the auditorium of Zila Shilpakala Academy here yesterday marking the National Youth Day-2017.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Gautam Chandra Pal addressed the function as the chief guest while additional police super Abdullah Al Faruk and Sadar UNO Alia Ferdous Zahan were present at the event as the special guests.

Additional deputy commissioner-General Muhammad Mizanur Rahman presided over the ceremony while deputy director of DYD Tofael Ahmed Khan and journalist Sarker M. Shahiduzzaman spoke at the function, among others.

DC Gautam Chandra Pal said the present government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken pragmatic and welfare programmes for the youths so that they could be self-reliant gradually and play significant role in building a happy and prosperous Bangladesh.

The DC also urged the beneficiary youths and the concerned of the organizations to utilize the loan and grant money to attain their cherished goals.

Later, DC Gautam Chandra Pal formally distributed the cheques of loan of TK 1.90 lakh and grant of TK 60,000 to beneficiary youths and the organizations

respectively.

A large number of people including DYD officials, youths, social workers, NGO activists, and journalists of print and electronic media attended the distribution ceremony.
