Comilla: The authorities of Comilla Medical College suspended eight students, including five interns, following a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on the campus, reports UNB. The five suspended interns are Dr Khalek, Dr Nowshad, Dr Sadman, Dr Shyamla and Dr Tanvir.
Campus sources said two factions of BCL- one led by 8th batch student Palash and another by 2nd batch student Hannan- locked into a clash on Tuesday night, leaving five students injured. Police, however, detained three students from the spot and later released them.
Abu Salam Mia, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model police station, said police members have been deployed on the campus following the clash and the medical college authorities have suspended some students. Comilla Medical College Principal Dr Mahsin-uz-Zaman could not be reached for comment despite multiple attempts.
