Narsingdi SP says Aziza committed suicide

Nasingdi, Nov 2: The father of one of the prime accused in the Aziza Akter murder case have claimed that vested quarters have implicated his daughter in the killing case. Bachchu Mia, father of Beauty Begum, said this at a press conference at the Narsingdi Press Club at 6pm yesterday.

He claimed that Beauty is innocent. She has been impliared because of land disputes between Abdus Salam, husband of Beauty, and his brother, Abdus Satter, father of Aziza, he said.

Bachchu also said that three friends of Aziza—Roman Mia, Rezaul Karim and Sujan—have given confessional statement to the senior judicial magistrate's court under Section 164.

They told the magistrate that Aziza and Roman were lovers, and they used to meet each other at different places in Narsingdi.

A few days back, Aziza had gone to Roman's house in Kamargaon area of Narsigdi town. Roman and others had then forcibly taken three mobile phones and Tk. 25,000 from the girl, Bachchu claimed.  

"Vested quarters are trying to harass our family. The enmity between Abdus Satter and Abdus Salam has contributed to Beauty being implicated in the Aziza Akter murder case," he said.

He demanded the intervention of higher authorities to withdraw the case against Beauty Begum.

In another development yesterday, Narsingdi police super Amena Begum told reporters that Roman and his two friends gave confessional statement to the  judicial magistrate under section 164. Later, they were sent to jail.
