Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, Geng Shuang, said at a regular media briefing on October 26 that the 19th CPC National Congress has adopted an amendment to the CPC Constitution incorporating the Belt and Road Initiative. It fully embodies China’s determination and confidence to implement the Belt and Road Initiative and promote further internaional cooperation under the leadership of the CPC.
In the 19th CPC National Congress report, President Xi Jinping stressed that China should pursue the Belt and Road Initiative as a priority, while also giving equal emphasis to the ideas of “bringing in” and “going global”. The principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration was also stressed, as was increased cooperation and openness building innovation so as to make China develop further through links running eastward and westward, across land and over sea. The resolution adopted by the Congress incorporating the Belt and Road Initiative into the Constitution fully reflects China’s determination and confidence to implement the Belt and Road Initiative and promote Belt and Road cooperation under the leadership of the CPC.
“We believe that the Belt and Road Initiative, as it deepens, will not only create more room for China’s open development, but will also bring greater opportunities for the development of involved countries, thus stimulating the global economy. We are willing to work together with all parties. Furthermore, we will adhere to the principle of achieving shared growth through discussion and collaboration and make new contributions for building a community of shared future for mankind. This is done by building an open, inclusive, clean and beautiful world that enjoys lasting peace, universal security and a common prosperity,” Geng Shuang said. (Xinhua)
