Bangladesh Under-19 national football team began their AFC age group qualifying round with some positive note when they halted the hosts Tajikistan with a goalless draw yesterday at the Hisor Central Stadium, Tajikistan.
Bangladesh, who were drawn in the Group B along with the top favourite in the group Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Maldives and host Tajikistan, began the campaign with a respectable result which can boost up the players for the next matches.
Bangladesh, who defeated Maldives in the SAFF Championship last month in Bhutan by 2-0, will face them in the next match on November
2. Then they will face
the tough opponents Uzbekistan on November 6.
Meanwhile, out of 41 teams - ten (10) group winners and five best second-placed teams will advance to final phase along with the host country. The AFC U-19 Championship qualifying stage is scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 8, 2017.
