Dinajpur: A court here on Monday sent three doctors of M Abdur Rahim Medical College and Hospital to jail in a corruption case of purchasing medical equipments of the hospitals in 2015, reports UNB.
Dinajpur District and Session Judge Hossain Shahid Ahmed passed the order.
The convicts are, Dr. Abu Bakar Siddique, then-acting director of the hospital, Dr. Siddiqur Rahman and Dr. ATM Iqbal. According to the case statement, the convict doctors embezzled Tk 7498050 from the hospital for purchasing medical equipments.
After investigation, Anti-Corruption Commission Assistant Director Amirul Islam filed a case against them on August 28, 2015 under Corruption Prevention Act.
