A Dhaka court yesterday placed Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Maqbul Ahmad on a 3-day fresh remand in a violence case, reports UNB.Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury passed the order after investigation officer of the case sub-inspector of Detective Branch Anwarul Haque produced him before the court on expirty of his 10-day remand in two other cases and sought a 10-day remand. According to the case statement, a group of miscreants hurtled cocktails on the law enforcers near Baitul Mamur Mosque at AGB Colony on January 4 in 2015.
On the same day sub-inspector Sumon Kumar Nath of Matijhel Police Station filed a case in this connection accusing 81 people including the Jamaat leader. Earlier on October 10, Maqbul Ahmad was placed on a ten-day remand in connection with two other cases filed with Kadamtoli Police Station.
