Much talked about BCB elections today

The much talked about election of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will be held at the board room of the BCB at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) today.

There are 25-director posts in BCB executive committee. Of them, there were scheduled to hold the election against the 23-director posts. NSC will nominate two directors, out of 25, as per the amended BCB constitution (2017). The NSC meanwhile nominated former board directors Enayet Hossain Siraj and Ahmed Sajjadul Alam Bobby as the directors of the BCB from the members (category-1, 2 and 3) of the BCB General Council.

The other 23-director posts were scheduled to come out from the election. But all the director posts from category-2 (Clubs) and category-3 (services teams) along with seven posts from the category-1 (Districts Sports Association) have been elected uncontested.

But 14 nomination papers from the category-2 were purchased against 12-director posts. Finally two candidates pulled out their candidacies. So, the rest of the 12 candidates were elected uncontested like the category-3.

Seven  more candidates filed nominations  against two-director posts from Dhaka Division Sports Association and one from Barisal Division Sports Association. And so, the election is finally being rolled on to these posts.
