Fire at CEPZ garment factory

CHITTAGONG: A fire broke out at a garment factory in Chittagong Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) yesterday afternoon, reports BSS.

Official of Fire Service of Chittagong zone Mohammad Nazrul Islam said the fire erupted at the five floor canteen of Merimo Garment Factory at road no 2 of the EPZ at around 12noon.

On information, three fire-fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after 50 minutes of frantic efforts, he said.
