Air pumped into worker’s rectum again in N’ganj

NARAYANGANJ: A worker has been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the capital after his co-worker allegedly pumped air into his rectum at a salt factory in Pirojpur Protapchar area of Sonargaon upazila.

 The victim was identified as Mofazzal, 22, a worker of Meghna Salt Factory, reports UNB.

A case was filed by Alauddin, a contractor of labours of the factory, with Sonargaon Police Station on Saturday night over the incident and later police arrested accused Shoahg and produced him before a Narayanganj court on Sunday.

According to the case statement, Shohag allegedly attempted to kill Mofazzal by pumping air into his rectum at the factory over a previous enmity on Friday noon.

Mofazzal fell seriously ill after the incident.

Later, other workers of the factory rescued him and took him to a local hospital where doctors referred him to the DMCH, said Mohammad Abdul Jabbar, officer-in-charge (Operations) of the police station.
