Four BCL leaders expelled from DU, CU
At least four Bangladesh Chhata League leaders of Dhaka University and Chittagong University units were expelled temporarily from the from their universities yesterday over fraud charges.
Our CU Correspondent reports: The Chittagong University (CU) authorities yesterday expelled its two students temporary on charge of fraudulence in CU intake test.
The students were identified as Md Shahidullah Nisat and Raihanul Haque, both are final year students of the Institute of Education and Research of CU and assistant secretary of CU BCL suspended committee. They are known as follower of HM Fazly Rabby Sujan, general secretary of the committee.
Md Ali Asgor Chowdhury, proctor of CU said, After investigation on the issue, we found their involvement. For this we expelled them as temporary with the rules of Board of Residence Health and Disciplinary Committee. Mentionable, on Sunday, the law enforcers along with the authorities of CU detained four admission seekers and three members of a fraud gang, including the two BCL leaders from Chittagong Universitys different examination halls while giving the proxy at the admission test under 2017-18 academic sessions.
UNB adds; The Dhaka University authorities have expelled two BCL leaders for involvement in fraud related to the Gha Unit admission test which was held on October 20.
The suspended students are Mohiuddun Rana, a second-year student of physics and central assistant secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL); and Abdullah Al Mamun, a first-year student of applied chemistry and theater and debate secretary of DU Amar Ekushey Hall unit of BCL.
DU Syndicate Member Lutfur Rahman confirmed to UNB that the Syndicate took the decision to temporarily expel them from the university on Sunday at a meeting.
Bangladesh Chhatra League also expelled Mohiuddun Rana from the organisation on October 22 for same allegations.
