AFC chief to meet BFF officials today

Shaikh Salman Bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, president of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), who was the special guest in the 2017 World Cup U-17 Football final, came to Dhaka yesterday to pay a surprise visit.

The AFC president will meet the executives of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) today.

The AFC president Salman traveled with his personal charted fight accompanied with the president of the BFF, Kazi Mohammed Salahuddin, who was also one of the guests in the final of the 2017 World Cup Under-17.

Salman, who elected the president of the AFC in 2013 made his first visit in Bangladesh while after his arrival he stayed at a hotel in the city whole the day and he  did not keep any programme.

Though it is not any official tour of the AFC president, the BFF high ups are very hopeful that it would be very positive for Bangladesh football.

Abdus Salam Murshedi, the senior vice-president of the BFF told this correspondent that they feel proud and honoured with the visit of the AFC president.

“It is very much positive and we are excited with the surprise visit of the AFC president, really we feel honoured and proud of that he considered the BFF for his personal visit.”

Replying to a query, Salam said, “You know, he is the guardian of the Asian football, so it is very much positive and we are very happy with his tour, we cordially received him at airport, so I think we can’t want anything to our guest but I think his visit will encourage  us to develop our football.”

“We will discuss with him all of our activities what we have been doing and what our future programme to him,” said Salam.
