Education Expo Malaysia kicks off in the capital
A three-day long Education Expo Malaysia kicked off yesterday in the capital aiming to provide various guidelines to the students who like to pursue higher education in Malaysia at a lower cost.
The organisers said the fair at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh (KIB) in the capital would help students and guardians to select the desired universities in Malaysia and remain out of any sort of cheating by other agencies.
The representatives of 16 renowned Malaysian universities are here to provide in-depth information regarding the higher education how to take admission, lower tuition fees, lower charges of food and accommodation, waivers, part-time job facilities and other opportunities given by the universities.
Before launching the fair organised by Bangladesh Malaysia Study Centre Ltd (BMSCL), an inaugural ceremony was held at the fair premises with the chief guest Prof Syeda Tahmina Akhter, director, Institute of Education and Research, Dhaka University.
Among others, Nawazish Ali Khan, adviser (Programme) of ATN Bangla, Abdur Rahman Khan, managing director of BMSCL, Khalilur Rahman, editor of Education Watch, spoke on the occasion.
Prof Syeda Tahmina Akhter said the fair would help the students to cross-check the information relating to various universities in Malaysia before pursuing higher education there.
JU viva-voce on November 12-13
The viva-voce of the successful candidates seeking admission to the first year honours programmes at the Jahangirnagar University (JU) under academic session 2017-18 will be held on November 12 and 13.
A press release signed by the Deputy Registrar (Education-1) and also the Member Secretary of Admission Management Committee Abu Hasan confirmed it yesterday
On November 12 and 13, viva voce of the successful candidates at the entry tests will accept according to their merit positions and subject choice, while a final merit list will publish on November 19 in this regard, the release said.
According the merit positions, the admission of successful candidates will be start from November 20 that will continue till November 23, it added.
The detailed information about admission and viva voce will be available on the official website ju-admission.org.
Rabindranath Tagore’s ‘Dakghar’ staged at IU
ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY: ‘Dakghar’ a famous play of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore was staged at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Saturday. IU theatre troupe staged the drama, on the occasion of its 26th anniversary celebrations, at Birsreshtha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium around 12:00pm.
It was directed by the Troupe’s president Wahiduzzaman Shawon while Tonmoy Sen, Shawon, Arif, Hasib, Enamul, Sabbir, Abdur Rouf, Alpona, Mahim, and Tarik acted out the various roles.
The play represents the eagerness of Amal, a sick child kept confined in a room, to participate in the activity of life around him.
Earlier on, the members of the troupe observed its 26th anniversary by cutting cake.
Seminar on research methodology held at BRUR
RANGPUR: A day-long seminar on ‘Various Aspects of Research Methodologies’ was held at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) here on Thursday.
Dr Wazed International Research and Training Institute (DWIRTI) of the university organised the seminar at its virtual class room in the campus, said a press release.
Vice-chancellor of BRUR Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah attended the launching session and formally inaugurated the seminar.
Senior Scientific Officer of DWRTI Dr Prasannojeet Sarker delivered welcome speech narrating goals and objectives of the seminar. Additional Secretary (PRL) to the Ministry of Land Dr Kabir Md Ashraf Alam conducted the seminar as the main resource person.
Moderated by Assistant Professor of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of BRUR Tabiur Rahman, research fellows of DWIRTI, teachers and officials concerned of the university participated in the seminar. In his PowerPoint presentation, Dr Alam elaborately discussed about various aspects of research methodologies and forwarded suggestions for successfully conducting research activities.
8th anniv of Anandan celebrated at JU
JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY: The eight founding anniversary of ‘Anandan’a special needs education centre for the children with disability was celebrated on the campus on Saturday
A programme was held on this occasion at the senate building of JU around 10am.
JU Vice-chancellor Prof Farzana Islam was present as the chief guest while Professor Hanif Ali of Computer Science and Engineering department was in chair.
