Training on ‘teaching quality improvement’
A six-day training programme on ‘teaching quality improvement’ jointly organised by the Institute of Education and Research (IER) of Dhaka University and the Ministry of Education began at the IER Building on the campus yesterday Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor (VC) AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated it as chief guest. Director of the IER of DU Md Abdul Awal Khan presided over the function while Director of TQI Project Bannamali Bhowmick addressed it as special guest. Project Coordinator Quazi Afroz Jahanara delivered welcome speech. Prof Arefin urged the teachers to present themselves as icon personality for the students in their daily life. They have to deliver comprehensive lecture for the students to make them future leaders in the country as well as forward looking citizen, he said. A total of 90 teachers from various government and non-government institutions are participating in the training programme.
Discussion on Nat’l Morning Day held
SAVAR: Gono Bishwabidyalay organised a discussion on the campus on Monday on the occasion of National Morning Day, says a press release. Mesbahuddin Ahmad, vice chancellor, presided over the meeting. Mahmud Shah Qureshi, dean, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Hasin Anupama Azhari, dean, Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Farida Adib Khanam, principal (in-charge), Gonoshashthaya Samajvittik Medical College, Mir Murtoza Ali, controller of examination, Monsur Musa, head, Department of English, spoke, among others. Later, Abu Raihan, lecturer, Department of Bengali conducted a prayer session.
