In an effort to boost Infor-mation and Communication Technology (ICT) further across the country, Griffith University, Australia and Access to Information (a2i) Programme on Sunday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop working partnership on different areas of ICT, reports BSS.
Project director of the a2i programme Kabir Bin Anwar and lecturer of Griffith University Dr David Tuffley signed the MoU at a function at Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam addressed the function as the chief guest with Principal Secretary of PMO Md Abul Kalam Azad in the chair.
Shahriar said the country has witnessed a remarkable progress in the field of ICT due to time-befitting and effective initiatives taken by the present government in the past six and a half years.
Advancement of ICT has been lauded at global level, he said, adding "Bangladesh drew attention of many developing countries for its impressive progress on ICT."
According to the MoU, the a2i programme and the Griffith University jointly will work on e-learning, e-waste management, e-leadership and many other areas of ICT.
Research, training and evaluation programmes will be carried out to make public services easy and smooth for the people.
Under the MoU, the Griffith University can include achievements of Bangladesh in the field of ICT in its academic courses and impart training onICT.
