Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has arranged a T20 Challenge Series for women’s cricketers to form an exclusive squad for Bangladesh Women’s National Cricket Team in the aspect of BCB-High Performance (HP) unit.
All the matches of the series will be held at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium (SKICS) and its Academy ground in Cox’s Bazar, starting from October 27.
The board meanwhile picked 36 players from the just concluded Dhaka Premier Division Women’s Cricket League with the help of the selectors to form the participating teams.
The squad splitting into three teams-Green, Red and Blue, will play the initial six matches of the tournament.
The last match will be played by the best find from three teams, naming Tigress XI and Lioness XI, the match which will conclude in November 3.
In a bid to play the tournament, they travelled to the world largest sea-beach district yesterday.
Bangladesh national team head coach David Capelo and selectors will sort out the best 25 players from the tournament for the newly-inducted squad for the women’s team. England-born coach already arrived here in Dhaka from a long break to witness the series.
It is learnt from the BCB insiders that the board will select the national squad with the quality and best players for the next year’s away tour in South Africa.
The Tigress are scheduled to fly for South Africa to play the bilateral series, which will be held in between January-February.
