CU ‘C’ unit admission test held

The first year admission test under ‘C’ unit’ of the Chittagong University (CU) for the academic session of 2017-2018 was held yesterday.

A total of 14,314 candidates appeared for the admission test this year against 448 seats while 12,580 applicants were present in the test. Some 32 applicants contested against each under the unit.

CU Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury, Pro-VC Pro Dr Shirin Akhter, Dean of Business Administration faculty and acting registrar of CU Pro Dr Kamrul Khuda visited different examination halls. This time CU VC Pro Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury said, “Without any unpleasant incidents, the examination was done fairly. Candidates will have to wait a few days to get results. The results will be published on the university's website.”

Meanwhile, a total of 1, 26,107 admission seekers registered through the online against 4,924 seats under four units of the university. The admission test will continue till October 29. Details of the tests can be found on www.cu.ac.bd.

On the other hand DB police held two extortionists who were taking extortion in the name of police member at gate no-1 area of CU.

The arrestee was identified as Abdur Rahman Bappy and Safiq. They were local residents of the area. Later, they were handed over to the Hathazari Police Station, said Police sources.
