PM selected by ITU for ICT's award

International Telecommuni-cation Union (ITU) will award Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her contribution towards harnessing the potential of ICT for sustainable development.
The ITU secretary general has sent a letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina notifying her of this.
ITU selected the Prime Minister for ICT's Sustainable Development Award 2015 in recognition of her contributions towards harnessing the potentials of information and communication technologies for sustainable development, Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan told the reporters yesterday.
State Minister for Post and Telecommunications Advocate Tarana Halim handed over the letter to Sheikh Hasina during the cabinet meeting at the secretariat yesterday, he added.
“The premier will receive the award at a function in New York on September 26 during her US visit,” the cabinet secretary informed.
