‘Geostorm’ a 2017 American thriller film directed by Dean Devlin as his feature film directorial debut, will hit Star Cineplex, the pioneer multiplex movie theatre in the country, today. The plot of the film follows a satellite designer who tries to save the world from a storm of epic proportions caused by malfunctioning climate-controlling satellites.
When catastrophic climate change endangers Earth's very survival, world governments unite and create the Dutch Boy Program: a worldwide net of satellites, surrounding the planet, that are armed with geoengineering technologies designed to stave off the natural disasters. After successfully protecting the planet for two years, something is starting to go wrong. Two estranged brothers are tasked with solving the program's malfunction before a worldwide Geostorm can engulf the planet.
Starring Gerard Butler, Jim Sturgess, Abbie Cornish, Alexandra Maria Lara, Richard Schiff, Robert Sheehan, Daniel Wu, Eugenio Derbez, Ed Harris and Andy García, the film is the first co-production between Skydance Media and Warner Bros. Pictures.
On October 20, the film ‘Geostorm’ was released in the United States and Canada, alongside 'Boo 2!' A Madea Halloween, The Snowman and Only The Brave.
