Veterinary doctors’ conference held

A two-day long conference of Veterinary doctors ended at a hotel in Cox’s Bazar recently, says a press release.

At least 500 veterinarians from various sectors participated in the conference.  The themes of the conference were “Principles of disease control and prevention, poultry health and management, herd and reproductive health management, companion animal health care and wildlife health. These five themes have been identified for the 1st National Veterinary CE Conference of Bangladesh. In the conference speaker said “Veterinarians need to keep up-to-date with advances in his/her professional field as well as maintaining and increasing competence”.

They underlined the importance of continuing education (CE) for the practicing veterinarians, the first of its kind in Bangladesh. The conference  was addressed by Dr Md Ainul Haque, Director General, Department of Livestock Services, Dr David Doolan, FAO Representative in-charge in Bangladesh, Professor Priya Mohan Das, Convener, National Veterinary Dean Council, Dr Md Mehedi Hossain, Director, Extension, Department of Livestock Services, Professor Md Sayedur Rahman, Department of Pharmacology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University and human health focal point Bangladesh Antimicrobial Response Alliance (BARA),Dr Eric Brum, Country Team Leader, FAO ECTA and Professor Nitish Chandra Debnath, Senior Technical Adviser, FAO ECTAD.
