Tarash upazila parishad vice chairman arrested

Sirajganj: Police arrested Tarash upazila parishad vice chairman Farhad Ali Bidyut from the upazila headquarters on Friday in a case filed for making attack on upazila chairman Abdul Haque in 2016, reports UNB.

The arrestee, Farhad Ali, is also general secretary of the upazila unit of Juba League.

Police said some miscreants attacked Tarash upazila chairman and also president of the upazila unit of Awami League Abdul Haque in his room in 2016.

Haque sustained critical injuries in the attack.

Later, his nephew Babul Sheikh filed a case with Tarash Police Station over the incident.

An arrest warrant was issued against Farhad Ali as police submitted a chargesheet against him.

Following the warrant, police made the arrest.
