35 arrested, drugs seized in Satkhira

SATKHIRA: Police, in special drives from Friday night to yesterday morning, arrested 35 people including two drug traders and recovered 100-gram of hemp and yaba tablets from eight upazilas of the district, reports BSS.

Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.

During the drives, Satkhira Sadar Police arrested 16 people, Kalaroa police arrested three, Tala police arrested two, Kaliganj police two, Shyamnagar police four, Assasuni police three, Patkelghata police two and Debhata police nabbed three people.

Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.

Later, the arrested were sent to jail.
