Police arrested an alleged drug trader and recovered 2,000 contraband yaba pills, one sub-machine carbine (SMC), one pistol, eight magazines and 60 round of bullets from Motijheel and Joarshahara areas in the capitalon Thursday evening, reports UNB. The arrestee was identified as Md Tofazzal Haque, 45.
Based on the information, a special team (Illegal narcotics recovery and prevention team) of DB conducted a drive in front of the Rahmania International Complex.
Sensing presence of the detectives, one of drug traders fled the scene but Tofazzal was caught from the spot, said Deputy Commissioner (Media) of DMP Masudur Rahman.
Searching his body, they recovered 600 pieces Yaba tablets. Based on Tofazzel's information, the DB team raided the residence of Rabiul and recovered 14,00 pieces Yaba pills, one SMC, one pistol, eight magazines and 60 rounds of bullets. Two separate cases were filed.
