Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team will play another bilateral youth series against its Nepalese counterparts after the conclusion of the five-match one-day youth series against Afghanistan U-19 cricket team.
Nepal U-19 cricket team are scheduled to arrive here in Bangladesh on October 30, two days before the start of the series against the hosts side.
This time the series, comprises of three-match 50-over games, will kick-start from November 2. All the matches of the series will be played at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan (BKSP) Ground-3 in Savar. The remaining matches of the short series will be held at the same venue on November 4 and 5 respectively.
Bangladesh youth will take off for Malaysia to play the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup 2017 after playing this three-match short series.
Bangladesh meanwhile have been resuming their intense training since Monday at the BCB-National Cricket Academy (NCA) following their reports on Sunday.
Head coach Damien Wright also returned Dhaka from Australia to join the team’s first training session. Australia-born coach went to Melbourne for a short break after the conclusion of the concluded bilateral series against Afghanistan at home turf.
Along with Wright, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) appointed Indian Mithun Manhas as batting consultant for the Bangladesh youth ahead of their back-to-back two important international assignments. The two events are all set to be decided in the gap of the one month.
Manhas also joined the team on their first training session in Mirpur. After his arrival, the former Indian player, who played domestic cricket in Bangladesh for Abahani Limited and Mohammedan Sporting Club at different seasons, met BCB chief executive Nizam Uddin Chowdhury to formally sign the deal for the Under-19 team’s batting consultant.
The youth Tigers, who played a five-match ODI youth series in November, will fly for Malaysia on November 9 as the eight-team all Asian competition will begin on November 13-22 prior to the next ICC U-19 World Cup, which will be taken place in between January-February.
