JCD leader dies from snakebite
A local leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) died from snakebite at Buidnak village in Sadar upazila on Tuesday evening.
The victim was identified as Tanvin Haque Riad, son of Tajul Islam of the village. He was the president of ward-3 unit JCD of Kalirbazar union.
Victim's maternal uncle Mizanur Rahman said a venomous snake bit Riad, a 2nd year student of Anandapur Degree College, while he was netting fish in an enclosure near his house. Riad was first taken to a shaman and then to Comilla General Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
200 illegal establishments evicted
Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Tuesday evicted some 200 shops and sheds from Sonargaon Janapath Road and House Building area if Uttara.
DNCC Executive magistrate of the DNCC Md Sajid Anwar carried out a mobile court in the areas and recovered around 20,000 square feet space removing the illegal occupiers, said DNCC public relation officer (PRO) ASM Mamun.
The mobile court also fined Uttara Square, KFC Restaurant and Nandan Kanon Tk one lakh, Tk 50,000 and Tk 25,000 respectively for keeping construction materials and building stair on the footpaths and roads.
