Left arm spinner Taijul Islam rated the South Africa tour as the toughest in his career, saying he gained a horrible experience from that tour.
Taijul is the one of the three cricketers who arrived in the country some days ago after failing to get a place in the ODI team. The other two is Shafiul Islam and Shuvashis Roy.
“It is the toughest tour in my life. The condition wasn’t helpful entirely,” said the left arm spinner.
Taijul played the second Test in Bloemfontein after losing the place to Mehedi Hasan Miraj in the first Test. Like Mehedi he also went wicket-less and conceded 145 runs in 27 overs, easily his worst bowling figure. Bangladesh lost that Test by innings and 254 runs which was South Africa’s largest margin victory in their history.
“It was very tough to bowl on the first day in South Africa’s wicket. The bounce was even and the ball was coming easily onto the bat. South African batsmen didn’t have any problem to bat effortlessly,” he said. “I tried to bring up variation but in no vain. I hoped I’ll get some turn from day two or three but I didn’t get.”
