Concert for Rohingya at DU
Demanding taking back Rohingya people to Myanmar with all humanitarian facilities, a concert was held on the Dhaka University (DU) campus at the evening on Saturday.
The concert organized by “Provat Feri ‘ a cultural organisation run by the DU students.
Professor Shibly Rubaiyatul Islam, dean of Business faculty of DU was chief guest while assistant professor of social welfare department of DU was present as special guest.
Different bands of DU students and singer of Provath Feri also famous instrumental artists have performed at the concert.
Assaduzaman Shikdar, president of " Provath feri " said " we have collected money from the audience while concert was running and we will give this money as relief to Rohinga people who have take shelter in Cox`s Bazar."
Miyanmar should take back the Rohingya people immediately and they should get proper humanitarian facilities in their own country.
Country’s only prominent Sarangi artist Motiar Rahman played the instrument while Rezaul Karim Shamol played violin at the concert.
‘Tagore Festival-1424’ ends at RU
A two-day long ‘Rabindranath Tagore Festival-1424’ ended at Rajshahi University (RU) campus yesterday.
Marking the event, a colorful rally was brought out on Saturday.
On the occasion, different cultural and social organisations arranged various programmes featuring discussion, musical soiree, dance performance and art exhibition.
The Rabindranath Festival Conference Sangsad of Rajshahi district unit organised the programme.
Jatiya Rabindra Songeet Conference Parishad of central committee President Dr Sazeda Khatun inaugurated the programme at Kazi Nazrul Islam audition while vice chancellor of RU Prof Dr M Abdus Sobhan was present as chief guest.
