The United Nations will ‘look into’ the issues related to the arrest warrants against BNP Chairperson and former prime minister Khaleda Zia, and Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha’s leaving the country. “I don't have the particulars of this case, but I will look into it,” Stéphane Dujarric, spokesman for the UN secretary-general, told a questioner at a daily briefing at the global body’s headquarters in New York on Thursday. Mentioning that Bangladesh is ‘under threat in terms of rule of law’, the journalist asked for the spokesperson’s observation on chief justice being ‘forced to go on leave and leave the country, and arrest warrants issued against Khaleda Zia’.
