Farewell programme for SUBs Civil Engineering department
A farewell programme for the Civil Engineering Department of Southern University was held at the Engineers Institution Chittagong Centre auditorium on Friday.
State Ministerfor Ministry of Land, Saifuzzaman Chowdhury attended the function as the chief guest. The farewell ceremony was presided over by the Pro-VC of the university and head of the Civil Engineering Department, Professor Ali Ashraf.
In the event, Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, the state minister of land said, The success of life does not come in a hurry. If you want be a successful person, you have to pass different steps. It should be remembered that the foundation of long-lasting success is also long lasting.
Among others, Vice-chancellor of SUB, Professor Dr Nurul Mostafa; founder of SUB, Sarwar Jahan; Consulting Professor of the SUB Engineering Department, Professor Mozammel Huq; and dean of the Science Faculty, Professor Sharifuzzaman, spoke at the event.
Seminar on research project proposal held at BRUR
RANGPUR: A day-long seminar on How to Write a Research Proposal Project was held at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) on Tuesday.
Dr Wazed International Research and Training Institute (DWIRTI) of the university organised the seminar here,a press release said.
Vice-chancellor of BRUR Professor Dr Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah inaugurated the seminar. Vice-chancellor of Royal University of Dhaka Professor Dr Profulla Chandra Sarker conducted the seminar as the main resource person.
Moderated by Assistant Professor of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of BRUR Tabiur Rahman, researchers of DWIRTI, teachers, students and officials concerned of the university participated in the seminar.
In his presentation, Professor Profulla discussed the various aspects on the process of writing research project proposal and forwarded suggestion on the coping strategy to meet challenges for successfully conducting research works.
Research works for higher education stressed
RANGPUR: Academicians at an orientation workshop here stressed on conducting adequate research activities for ensuring quality and international standard of higher education.
They came up with the observation at an inaugural ceremony of the two-day wor shop on Participatory Action Research organised by the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) on Sunday afternoon, said a press release.
Professor of the Bengali Department at the university Dr Parimal Chandra Barman attended the function as the chief guest with Head of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism Dr Md Nazrul Islam in the chair.
Forty students of the Department of Mass Communication of BRUR are participating in the workshop being arranged with assistance of Pollishree, Monash University of Australia and Oxfam GB.
Mukim Chowdhury, an Official of Pollishree, as the special guest attended the ina gural ceremony moderated by Assistant Professor of the Department of Mass Communication of BRUR Tabiur Rahman.
Professor Parimal hoped that the workshop would help the participants to acquire ideas for conducting research activities.
Orientation of MBA programme held at Southeast University
The orientation programme of MBA (Evening) of Fall Semester-2017 of Southeast University (SEU) was held on Wednesday at university seminar hall, main campus, Banani, Dhaka, says a press release.
Registrar of SEU Maj Gen Kazi Fakhruddin Ahmed, SPP, psc (Retd) welcomed newly enrolled students, while Vice-chancellor of SEU Prof Dr ANM Meshquat Uddin chaired the session. Professor Dr Hafiz GA Siddiqi, former Vice -chancellor, North South University was present as the chief guest. M Kamaluddin Chowdhury, representative trustee of the Southeast University Trust attended the programme as the guest of honour.
