DIU student’s killer held in Narayanganj

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested the ringleader of a mugger gang, which killed a private university student in the capital, from Rupsha area in Narayanganj district on Friday morning, reports UNB.

The arrested was identified as Jibon Hossian Litu, 28, the kingpin of the gang which used to mug in the city's Tikatuli area.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-3 conducted a drive in the area and arrested Litu around 9:30am, said Rab-3 second-in-command Major Maruf.

“Litu was the ringleader of the mugger gang which stabbed Abu Talha, 22, a student of Daffodil International University (DIU), to death in Tikatuli area,” the RAB official added.

On October 8, Abu Talha, a 2nd year student of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department of DIU and son of Nuruddin, was stabbed to death by muggers at Tikatuli in the capital.
